October 2012 marks the 75 anniversary of the 1937 Haitian Massacre. A group of organizations, artists, activists, students, teachers and parents have come together to breathe life to a tragedy long forgotten. Border of Lights Group (BOL) is a collective coming together to commemorate and continue the legacy of hope and justice. We are committed to change and supporting a mission of justice and peace in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

We will honor and remember Massacre victims and bring light to current injustices faced by Dominicans of Haitian descent. Anniversary events will take place October 4-6, 2012 in the border towns of Dajabon, Dominican Republic and Ounaminthe, Haiti. We envision solidarity events taking place wherever the message takes root on the globe- in schoolrooms, college campuses, towns and cities.
